Thesis: Mr. Clean uses the humor to make the brand recognizable-a household name.
Effectiveness? I personally thought that the ad served its purpose well as I found the commercial entertaining and funny and still laugh every time I watch it. I can recognize the brand easily, as the logo was very prevalent throughout the ad. While I am a relatively clean college student living in a dorm and don't need to clean a lot right now, I would be likely to buy Mr. Clean brand supplies when cleaning in the future. I would only buy it as a necessity though, not as a luxury or for fun.
